Application

SÍLTEX is especially suitable for the protection of mineral surfaces: plasters of lime and / or cement, plaster, brick, concrete, stone, fiber cement, etc., both in new and restoration work; Examples: homes, schools, hospitals, public buildings, monuments, etc.

Properties

• Excellent adhesion on the various mineral supports of construction: lime mortar and / or cement, stone, brick, plaster, etc., in which it is totally "integrated" by the formation of colloidal silica, which acts as a binder, and its subsequent hardening.
• High degree of diffusion: the silicate paint is five times more permeable to water vapor than conventional plastic paints.
  
• Fungicide and Algaecide: it prevents the development of microorganisms on the painted surface due to its alkaline and mineral character.
  
• Durability: both inside and outside the film SÍLTEX is washable and non-sticky (not thermoplastic) does not get dirty; As well as resists urban and industrial gases perfectly, the painted surfaces keep their appearance and color clean and unalterable.

How to use

• Preparation of the support
  

The surface to be painted must be firm, free of loose particles, or easily crumbled, as well as clean of dust, grease, debris, etc.; If necessary, brush the surface until it reaches the healthy support.

On new mortar plasters, it is necessary to wait 2-4 weeks before painting. Then apply a previous coat of SÍLTEX PRIMER sealer.

On surfaces painted with lime, remove this by mechanical brushing and also apply a previous coat of SÍLTEX PRIMER.

In general, a primer should be applied with SÍLTEX IMPRIMACIÓN on mortar or plasterboard, lime or cement mortar, concrete, sandstone, brick, etc. Since it regulates the absorption and consolidates the weakened surfaces.

On surfaces painted with plastic paints, the plastic paint layer must be removed.

• PRODUCT APPLICATION:
  

If necessary, it is possible to add 10% of water to facilitate its application, and up to 20% of water if by the time and conditions of storage the product presents a greater thixotropy to apply the first hand of SÍLTEX.

Once dry it will be possible the second or successive hands of SÍLTEX with little water or pure. Areas adjacent to the surface to be painted should be adequately protected from silicate splashes, especially glass, ceramics, lacquers, natural stone and metal surfaces; Splashes, if they occur, should be cleaned immediately with plenty of water.
SÍLTEX should not be mixed with other types of paint.

The approximate yield of product is 7 m2 / l.

Note: Due to the chemical nature of the product, the applicator should consider the use of a single batch of product manufacture in order to avoid possible color differences after application on the carrier.

• POTASSIUM SILICATE CLEARING:
  

There is the option to elaborate a POTASSIUM SILICATE BLEACH by mixing SILTEX with SILTEX PRIMER in a 1: 4 ratio. It is advisable to apply on a previous coat of SILTEX.

Tools: Brush, roller or airless.
The working tools are easily cleaned with water immediately after the service is finished.
